Veloscape.com is a blog started by Richard Thevenon dedicated to cycling especially in Surrey, UK. Veloscape has also a Youtube channel that you can access here.
You don't need to travel very far to explore new territories. Although Surrey is a highly populated part of the UK, it has a lot to offer to cyclists with challenging off road mountain biking routes to gentle country lanes, there is something for everybody.
The Surrey Hills provide wonderful landscapes to entice families and committed bikers alike.
For families who want to cycle together, The Downs Link, a disused railway line makes a splendid off-road path offering the freedom of cycling without traffic (check out my July video on that one!). For the more experienced cyclists Box Hill on the North Downs, and Leith Hill will offer some challenges.
Richard, who is originally from France, was initiated to cycling by his Belgian grand-dad at the tender age of 4. A few years later, he spent most of his summer holidays cycling in the Ardennes and that was the beginning of a passion leading him to explore new territories and meet many people from all walks of life. “A bike is such a simple yet marvellous invention. Not only it can shorten the distances, it can also bridge gaps between various people”.
